Bagger — Privacy Policy
1. The short version
Bagger is a golf app for iPhone and Apple Watch. To do its job it needs to know where you are on the course, what clubs you hit and how far, and — if you use the voice caddy — what you asked it out loud.
We collect that. We use it to give you distances and advice, and to make the app's picture of your game more accurate over time. We share it only with the specific service providers listed in §5, all of whom process it on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information. We do not run ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
You can delete everything, permanently, from inside the app.
This policy is written for a real person to read. If anything in it is unclear, email us at support@getbagger.com and we'll fix the wording.
2. Who we are
Bagger LLC, an Oregon limited liability company, is the controller of the personal information described here.
Address: Bagger LLC, Oregon, United States, Oregon, United States
Email: support@getbagger.com
3. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email that service passes to us — including Apple's private relay address, if you choose to hide your email.
- Profile details. Display name and handicap, if you enter them.
- Your bag. The clubs you set up and any distances you enter or correct.
- Scores and round entries. Everything you tap in during a round.
- What you send support. If you email us, we have that email.
Information collected automatically while you use the app
- Precise location. During an active round, the app continuously reads your device's GPS to calculate distances and to record where each shot started and finished. Location is requested as "While Using the App." The app declares a background location capability so that tracking continues when your phone is in your pocket mid-hole; it does not track you when you are not in a round.
- Shot records. For each shot you confirm: the club, the start and end coordinates, the target and aim coordinates, the calculated distance, the hole, and the course. This is what the app learns from.
- Voice recordings. When you tap the microphone or answer a spoken prompt, the app records audio and sends it to be transcribed (see §5). This only happens when you initiate it — the app is not listening otherwise.
- Apple Health and motion data (Apple Watch). With your permission, the Watch app starts a workout session during a round and reads walking distance and related workout metrics. The Watch also uses motion sensors to detect a golf swing so it can prompt you to confirm a shot.
- Round and performance records. Scores, pace of play, walking distance, and the insights generated from them.
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active Bagger Pro subscription, and which plan.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and error diagnostics, which include your account identifier and email address so we can follow up on a specific user's crash.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your payment card details — Apple handles all billing and never passes card data to us. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), we do not include any advertising or attribution SDK, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app's privacy manifest declares no tracking.
4. Why we use it
| What we use | What for |
|---|---|
| Location, shot records, clubs | Calculating distances; learning your real club distances and miss tendencies; generating club recommendations and aim advice |
| Voice recordings | Transcribing your question so the caddy can answer it |
| Round context (hole, distance, conditions, your club history) | Generating the caddy's answer |
| The caddy's answer text | Producing spoken audio, when the voice caddy is used |
| Scores, rounds, pace, walking distance | Your round history, statistics, and post-round insights |
| Account and profile details | Creating and securing your account; support |
| Subscription status | Unlocking the features you've paid for |
| Diagnostics | Finding and fixing crashes and errors |
| Aggregated, de-identified data | Improving the accuracy of the app's recommendations for everyone |
On that last row, because it matters: aggregated and de-identified means the information can no longer reasonably be linked to you or your account. When we use data this way we commit to three things: we take reasonable measures to ensure it cannot be re-associated with you, we maintain and use it only in de-identified form, and we do not attempt to re-identify it. We do not license or sell it.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, for the purposes listed. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
| Provider | What reaches them | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (database and authentication) | Account details, profile, rounds, scores, shot records including coordinates | Storing your account and golf data |
| OpenAI | Voice recordings for transcription; round context and your question for the caddy's answer | Speech-to-text and generating caddy responses |
| ElevenLabs | The text of the caddy's answer | Converting it to spoken audio |
| Mapbox | Location data needed to serve map tiles and elevation for your position | Displaying the satellite hole view |
| iGolf Connect | Course and hole identifiers; location as needed to retrieve the right hole and green data | Course maps and green data |
| RevenueCat and Apple | Your account identifier and subscription status | Managing and validating your subscription |
| Sentry | Crash and error diagnostics, including your account identifier and email address | Diagnosing crashes |
| Apple (Sign in with Apple) / Google (Google Sign-In) | Only what you authorize at sign-in | Letting you sign in without a new password |
Requests to OpenAI and ElevenLabs are sent through our own servers, not directly from your device.
We may also disclose information if we're legally required to, to enforce our Terms, to protect someone's safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business — in which case we'll notify you and this policy will continue to apply until it's replaced.
6. Apple Health data — specific commitments
Apple requires, and we agree, that Health data gets its own rules. Where the Apple Watch app reads workout or motion data with your permission:
- We use it only to show you what happened during your round — walking distance, pace, and swing detection to prompt a shot confirmation.
- We do not use Health data for advertising, marketing, or any similar service, and we do not use it for data mining.
- We do not sell Health data or disclose it to data brokers.
- We do not share Health data with third parties without your explicit permission.
You can revoke the app's Health access at any time in the iPhone's Health app under Sources, or in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
7. Your choices and controls
- Location. Grant or revoke in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Bagger. Without it, the app can't provide distances or track shots — the rest of the app still works.
- Microphone and speech recognition. Grant or revoke in Settings → Privacy & Security. Without them, the voice caddy is unavailable; everything else works.
- Apple Health. See §6.
- Your shot data. Every shot is one you confirmed. You can review your round history in the app.
- Delete everything. Profile → Account → Delete Account. This is permanent and immediate: your profile, rounds, scores, shot history, saved clubs, and account are removed from our systems and cannot be restored. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that in your Apple Account settings.
- Access or correction. Email support@getbagger.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
8. Your rights, wherever you live
We extend the same core rights to every Bagger user, regardless of where you are. You may:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it — most of it is listed in §3 and §13 of this policy
- Access a copy of it
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete all of it — in-app, immediately, without asking us (§7)
- Obtain a portable copy in a common machine-readable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these — no degraded service, no different price.
How to exercise them. In-app account deletion (§7) handles deletion directly and instantly. For anything else, email support@getbagger.com. We'll acknowledge within 10 days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time we'll tell you why before that deadline passes. We may need to verify your identity — usually by confirming you control the account's email address.
California. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
EEA and UK. Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (running the app you signed up for — distances, tracking, recommendations, your subscription), legitimate interests (securing accounts, diagnosing crashes, improving accuracy using aggregated data), and consent (location, microphone, and Apple Health access, each of which you grant at the OS level and can withdraw at any time in your device settings). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Nevada. We do not sell personal information as defined under Nevada law.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your account and golf data for as long as your account exists, because the app's usefulness depends on your history — that's the product. When you delete your account, we delete it. We may retain limited records where we're legally required to, such as transaction records for tax purposes. Crash diagnostics are retained on our provider's standard schedule.
10. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our infrastructure provider, which encrypts data at rest. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it — currently, that's one person. Third-party API keys are held on our servers rather than in the app.
No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law.
11. Children
Bagger is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email support@getbagger.com and we'll delete it.
12. Where your data is processed
We're based in the United States and our service providers process data in the United States. If you use Bagger from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed here, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on the transfer mechanisms our processors make available — most of the providers in §5 offer Standard Contractual Clauses, and we use them where they apply. By creating an account you understand your information will be handled in the United States.
13. Data collection summary — the source of truth for App Store labels
This table is what the App Store privacy nutrition labels must say, and what the app's PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy privacy manifest must declare. If any of the three drift apart, App Review will notice.
| Data type | Collected | Linked to you | Used to track you | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Audio data (voice recordings) | Yes | Yes | No | App functionality |
| Contact info (email address) | Yes | Yes | No | App functionality; support |

Nothing is used for tracking. The app contains no advertising or attribution SDK, and its privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking = false with no tracking domains.
14. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when what we do changes. If a change is material — a new category of data, a new purpose, a new provider — we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "Last Updated" date always reflects the current version.
